Our Mission

The Labor and Honor Foundation is a private foundation that provides financial resources, as well as leadership expertise and nonprofit insight, to organizations that seek to alleviate poverty, increase educational attainment, and expand access to the arts.

The efforts of the Labor and Honor Foundation are made possible through the deeply held conviction that all Work should be performed with Honor and for a Purpose.

Our Vision

The Labor and Honor Foundation envisions a community of:
  • Families and individuals who have access to
    • resources to aid in the alleviation of poverty and the eradication of extreme poverty,
    • educational and training opportunities needed to succeed economically, and
    • artistic experiences to enrich their lives;
  • Businesses that operate ethically and give back meaningfully; and
  • Philanthropists who are inspired to give boldly and generously to improve the lives of others, as well as commit to growing a lasting culture of philanthropy.

Our Areas of Focus

The core areas of focus for the Labor & Honor Foundation are Education, the Arts, and addressing the needs of Vulnerable Populations.  These causes are at the heart of our foundation. Our foundation partners with nonprofits that serve populations in need, with a particular focus in the areas in which the Clarke family have special ties such as Utah, rural Idaho, the United Kingdom, and the Dominican Republic.

Education

From K-12 and school district foundations to university scholarships and job training programs, the Clarke family's dedication to advancing educational attainment across their community continues to be their most significant philanthropic investment to date.

Supporting education and job training initiatives not only ensures that the next generation is prepared for success as they enter the workplace, but has ripple effects across our communities.

Poverty Alleviation and Addressing the Needs of Vulnerable Populations

Serving the most vulnerable among us is the most cherished undertaking of the Clarke family, and is the cornerstone of the Labor and Honor Foundation's giving.  We endeavor to see those who are overlooked, to lift those who are left behind, and for our impact -- whether though time, talent, or treasure -- to reach those who need it the most.

Access to the Arts

Access to the arts is essential for fostering creativity and cultural appreciation within our communities, opens doors to diverse perspectives and experiences, enriching our lives promoting understanding among individuals. By ensuring everyone has the opportunity to engage with various art forms, we can cultivate a vibrant society that values expression and innovation.
